Lancelot is an experimental launcher menu designed to provide a place from which all your jobs begin. It provides quick access to applications, places, documents, contacts and system information.
Features
- No-click interface that allows you to navigate through the menu, and start any application just by moving the mouse - without making a single click;
- Arranging the items in the menu depending on the position of the menu button which activates it, so that the most used categories appear nearest to the mouse;
- Integrated KRunner into the menu itself, so there is no more need for using two completely different applications that have basically the same purpose, but different approaches;
- Put the parts of the Lancelot menu that you use the most directly on your desktop or panel.
- Have Plasma applets inside the menu. (yes, you could have a clock inside the menu as well - since Lancelot is based on Plasma, Lancelot itself is all about clocks too :) )
Why?
If you are wondering why there is a need for yet another launching interface, you can find a more detailed answer in the FAQ section.
People
At the moment, I (Ivan Čukić) am the only developer behind this project. Obviously, there are a lot of people involved indirectly - from other Plasma developers, to people who helped me find the answer to life, the universe, and everything.
Contact
You can sometimes find me on IRC (#plasma chanel) under a very obscure nickname - ivan_cukic. Don't be confused if someone greets me with "Hi, Mr Lancelot"... it happens sometimes.
